Karnataka Pravasi Souda – A Historic Choultry in Tirumala

Karnataka State Charities at Tirumala have a historic relevance and a longstanding connection with the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) spanning over 700 years, dating back to the times of the Vijayanagara Empire.

The patronage of these charitable facilities was later continued by the Mysore Wodeyars. The present facilities of Karnataka Pravasi Souda (KPS) are part of the donations and charitable initiatives made by the erstwhile kings of the Mysore Kingdom for the welfare and convenience of people visiting Tirumala.

After India's independence, as a natural progression, these facilities came to be owned and managed by the Government of Karnataka. KPS is part of the Karnataka choultries maintained by the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments (KHRICE) Department.

Located in a prime location in Tirumala, Karnataka Pravasi Souda provides pilgrims with convenient access to accommodation during their pilgrimage. Its location makes it easier for devotees and visitors to reach the facility and make their stay in Tirumala more comfortable and convenient.

With its rich historical association, charitable heritage, and convenient location, Karnataka Pravasi Souda continues to serve pilgrims visiting the sacred Lord Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple at Tirumala.
